Wanda Dean

Wanda grew up in a country setting, and early on developed a love for the forest and landscape around her. She spent countless hours discovering the woods and found it a magical place where she could be alone, hiking, picking flowers, riding her horse, enjoying a world she thought was her own.

She was always creative, and when, years later she started becoming serious about her art, it was natural that she, for the most part became a landscape painter, and wherever she travels, it is always what she seems to connect with. She does paint other subjects but this is what she always comes back to.

She feels strongly about the feeling of space and tries to create a sense of mystery, using shape and color and hopes the viewer will relate to this.

She stops painting when she feels that she has captured this feeling.

She has been fortunate to study under wonderful artists, such as Cole Young, Catherine Nelson, Tholmas Buechner, and Fred Lipp who tried to help her get “where she wanted to go”.
